The UAE has recently established the Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC), a significant initiative unveiled by HH Sheikh Mohamed, the Ruler of Abu Dhabi. This council underscores the UAE’s commitment to advancing technological innovation and shaping the future of its digital landscape. The AIATC is tasked with developing and implementing policies related to research, infrastructure, and investments in artificial intelligence and advanced technology within Abu Dhabi.
By fostering collaboration between local and global partners, the council aims to enhance Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading hub for AI and advanced technology investments. This initiative reflects a strong belief in the importance of technological leadership in building a sustainable economy for the future. The establishment of the AIATC aligns with the UAE’s broader vision to lead in AI and advanced technologies, ensuring continued development and prosperity beyond hydrocarbons.
In addition to this, the Dubai government launched the Dubai AI platform in June 2024, developed in partnership with the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence. This platform facilitates seamless access to services and information across various sectors within Dubai, supporting the emirate’s efforts to integrate AI applications into its core services. According to Saeed Al Falasi, Director of the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, this initiative is part of a strategic vision to meet current and future community needs through innovative solutions.
These initiatives collectively highlight the UAE’s proactive approach to embracing artificial intelligence as a cornerstone of its economic diversification strategy, aiming to position itself as a global leader in technological advancements.
